During Frieze Seoul Art Week, EAST PACIFIC TRADE gathered a small circle of friends — artists, photographers, and culture shapers — for an intimate dinner with Coco Capitán. The evening was quiet yet full of conversation, where ideas moved like the rhythm of fencing: forward, back, and in between.

Coco’s long fascination with the discipline of fencing — its precision, its grace, its poise — has become the foundation of her new collaboration with EAST PACIFIC TRADE, “On & Off The Piste.” Together, they explore the parallels between sport and art, between movement and stillness, between form and instinct.

The collaboration begins with two sneakers inspired by fencing’s opposing forces — the REPOSTE and PARRY — and continues with the upcoming Checkmate Fencer collection, launching February 2026.

In this meeting of artistry and craftsmanship, Coco Capitán brings her poetic sensibility, while EAST PACIFIC TRADE contributes its shoemaking savoir-faire — a dialogue expressed not in words, but in details, textures, and rhythm.
